Tagungen

Das Malta-Zentrum organisiert Forschungsaktivitäten sowohl in Bremen und Malta als auch in anderen Ländern. Seit 2013 ist es an der Organisation der alle zwei Jahre stattfindenden Konferenz der Għaqda Internazzjonali tal-Lingwistika Maltija (GĦILM) beteiligt, insbesondere an der Konferenzvorbereitung, den Aktivitäten vor Ort und der Nachbereitung. Die Nachbereitung der Konferenz umfasst die Bearbeitung und Veröffentlichung ausgewählter Beiträge. Aus den Konferenzen ist bereits eine Reihe von Sammelbänden hervorgegangen.

Im Rahmen einer besonderen Veranstaltung am 30. April 2015 im Max-Planck-Institut für evolutionäre Anthropologie in Leipzig verabschiedete das Malta-Zentrum feierlich den renommierten Sprachwissenschaftler Bernard Comrie, der einen großen Beitrag zur Erforschung des Maltesischen geleistet hat.

LAST GĦILM Conference

The 9th International Conference on Maltese Linguistics will be jointly organized by Ruben van de Vijver (Heinrich-Heine-Universität, Düsseldorf) and both branches of the Malta Centre; by Raffaello Bezzina (Malta), Michela Vella (Malta) and Maike Vorholt (Bremen).
 
The main topic of the conference is “Rooting for Maltese“.
