Conferences

The Malta Centre is active in organising research activities both in Bremen and Malta, and in other countries. Since 2013 it has been involved in organising the conference of the Għaqda Internazzjonali tal-Lingwistika Maltija (GĦILM) Conference, which is held every two years, specifically, the conference run-up, on-site activity and follow-up. The conference follow-up includes the editing and publication of selected papers. Up to now, a number of edited volumes have emerged from these conferences.

At a special event held on 30th April 2015 at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, the Malta Centre gave a ceremonial farewell to the renowned linguist Bernard Comrie, who has contributed greatly to research on Maltese.
